Most cars have windows that open outward so people can enjoy fresh air while driving. Many also come with sunroofs to let even more light into the interior. But why do some vehicles have large, almost ceiling-high roofs called "panoramic" roofs? Panoramic roofs are usually made of glass or plastic panels that extend from the windshield all the way back to the rear window. These roofs provide an unobstructed view of the sky above. Some panoramic roofs even tilt and slide like regular sunroofs for extra ventilation.
Panoramic roofs are increasingly popular among automobile manufacturers because they make the inside of the car feel more spacious and open. It feels as if the roof has disappeared completely, allowing occupants to experience a sense of freedom and boundlessness. The effect is especially powerful when the driver and passengers are looking up at the stars while parked in the middle of nowhere. Driving under the stars can be very romantic, but some people find it erotic too!
Many women find it arousing to be looked at by men who drive convertibles because the top is down and the man's gaze sweeps across their naked bodies. Other people get turned on by the thought of being exposed to the elements. There is something primal about feeling vulnerable in nature, which could explain why driving a convertible is often seen as a sexual act.
But panoramic roofs also serve another purpose: they create the illusion of intimacy between driver and passenger. If you are sitting close to someone in a car with a large glass roof, it may seem as if there are no walls or ceiling separating you. Your partner's head is right next to yours, making it easy to whisper sweet nothings into his/her ear. This makes for great foreplay before a date or other fun activities.
There is also an element of voyeurism to panoramic roofs. You can see what is going on outside without anyone seeing you. People watching from passing cars won't notice anything unusual happening inside your vehicle. Couples who want to fool around might take advantage of this privacy. And if your partner has a foot fetish, he/she will love the open view of your feet pressing on the gas pedal.
Panoramic roofs add value to cars. They give drivers more control over their environment and allow them to feel like kings or queens of the road. But they also provide a subtle sexual thrill that many people enjoy. Panoramic roofs have long been used in advertising campaigns for luxury vehicles because they make potential buyers feel sexier just looking at the photos.
