A third study found that people who have higher levels of mechanical aptitude tend to report more positive experiences when thinking about cars. They suggested that this may be due to a connection between mechanical aptitude and a desire for control or mastery, which can translate into sexual arousal in some contexts.

MECHANICAL RHYTHM

One theory is that the rhythmic motion of an engine's pistons or gears may create a sense of harmony or balance that is associated with eroticism.

When an engine is running smoothly, all the moving parts work together in unison to produce power. This can create a sense of balance and symmetry that is pleasing to watch or listen to. Similarly, the constant motion of a transmission as it shifts through gears may also be seen as erotically appealing.

The sounds produced by engines and transmissions can be interpreted as sexy. Many people find the roar of a V8 engine to be seductive, and the clicking of gears as they shift into place can sound like a lover's movements.
