When shown photos of attractive males, participants who viewed them under blue lighting experienced greater visual fixation and longer gaze duration on their faces and bodies compared to those under other types of lighting. Similarly, when shown photos of attractive females, blue lighting led to higher levels of arousal as evidenced by greater visual fixation on breasts and lower on the face.

The researchers concluded that blue lighting is optimal for enhancing erotic attention during nighttime driving.
